As a family photographer in Sussex, I have the privilege of capturing special moments that families will cherish for generations. One of my favourite recent sessions took place on a rather hot July day at this family's beautiful home in West Sussex - a home they had lovingly built themselves.
It was an extended family session, made even more special as it coincided with a special little girl's birthday.
A Picture-Perfect Summer’s Day
The sun shone brightly, which is not the dream it might seem for an outdoor photographer! Strong sunlight can cast harsh shadows and make everyone squint! But we managed to find some shady spots in their gorgeous garden. With everyone dressed in light, summery outfits, the atmosphere was relaxed as I set to work capturing the lovely connections between parents, children, grandparents and cousins.
Exploring the Meadow
At the bottom of their garden is a beautiful wildflower meadow, where we got some gorgeous images among the tall grasses and delicate flowers. These candid moments resulted in some of my favourite images from the session - authentic, joyful and full of life.
